{"id":42436,"date":"2021-07-28T22:29:43","date_gmt":"2021-07-29T05:29:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/?p=42436"},"modified":"2021-07-28T22:29:43","modified_gmt":"2021-07-29T05:29:43","slug":"job-gis-manager-westwater-research-llc-boise-idaho-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/mesweekly\/job-gis-manager-westwater-research-llc-boise-idaho-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: GIS Manager, WestWater Research LLC (Boise, Idaho)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Job Type: Permanent<br \/>Salary Details: Depending on Experience<\/p>\n<p>See full job and application details at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservationjobboard.com\/job-listing-gis-manager-boise-idaho\/4070211649\">https:\/\/www.conservationjobboard.com\/job-listing-gis-manager-boise-idaho\/4070211649<\/a><\/p>\n<p>WestWater Research is actively seeking a motivated GIS Manager for immediate employment.\u00a0 The qualified applicant will have a minimum of 2 years of full-time professional experience in GIS.\u00a0 The individual should be organized, able to work independently and be highly motivated in their career.\u00a0 The incumbent must have a strong background in GIS theory and proficient with the ESRI ArcGIS suite of products and applications.\u00a0 In addition to supporting the company&#8217;s GIS needs, the position also includes collaborating in the development of several proprietary company databases and the management of contracted IT Managed Services agreements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GIS Manager Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cartography and map production to support water right valuations and transaction advisory services<\/li>\n<li>Researching, interpreting, inventorying, and mapping of water rights<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in georeferencing<\/li>\n<li>Ability to acquire, edit, and manipulate spatial data and non-spatial data from a variety of sources<\/li>\n<li>Ability to employ a variety of spatial analysis techniques<\/li>\n<li>Photo interpretation of agricultural lands to determine irrigated acres over time<\/li>\n<li>Effective communication with internal personnel and external clients on GIS needs<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at one time<\/li>\n<li>Geodatabase management<\/li>\n<li>Administration of ArcGIS Online account<\/li>\n<li>Oversite of IT Managed Services agreement<\/li>\n<li>Development of project budgets in relation to GIS support activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in GIS, Geography, Natural Resources, Agriculture, Economics, or related field<\/li>\n<li>Two years of focused work experience as a GIS Manager\/Analyst<\/li>\n<li>Strong proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS suite of products and applications and open-source GIS (ArcPro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, QGIS)<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with relational database management systems (SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Oracle, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Experience with a wide range of GIS data, including land use, land ownership, hydrologic data<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) and mapping spatial features based on legal descriptions<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with Office 365 products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, SharePoint)<\/li>\n<li>Strong cartographic skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Detail-oriented<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of water rights, water right information systems, and interpretation of land records documents strongly preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge and experience with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, MS 365)<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of SQL, Python, or other programming or scripting languages<\/li>\n<li>Master&#8217;s Degree in GIS, Geography, Natural Resources, Agriculture, Economics, or related field<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the consulting environment<\/li>\n<li>Experience with the design and management of web-based database systems<\/li>\n<li>Experience with web mapping services<\/li>\n<li>Experience in project management<\/li>\n<li>Interest in water resources and economics<\/li>\n<li>Background or familiarity in IT Managed Services<\/li>\n<li>GIS platform administration<\/li>\n<li>Enjoys creating and applying creative solutions to consulting tasks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
