Work by the ocean! Carlsbad Aquafarm is looking for an educated tour guide to facilitate our exclusive Farm Tour & Oyster Tasting experiences.<\/p>\n
This is a fun and busy role with opportunities for growth in the Marine Aquaculture industry.<\/p>\n
The ideal candidate is a student or graduate looking to further their experience and knowledge of Marine Biology, Aquaculture and\/or Sustainable Farming.<\/p>\n
Applicants must be in good physical condition and prepared to work a full day outdoors. Must have reliable transportation. Customer service experience is a plus, but not required.<\/p>\n
Applicants must be able to work both Saturdays and Sundays. Minimum 16 hours per week, with opportunities for full-time hours for suitable candidates.<\/p>\n
In-house training provided.<\/p>\n
Duties include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Educate guests on the techniques and equipment used to support the growth and harvesting of Oysters and Mussels.<\/li>\n
- Educate guests on the local wildlife and how sustainable farming protects the natural ecosystem.<\/li>\n
- Lead oyster shucking classes and host tasting events.<\/li>\n
- Answer customer phone calls and reply to enquiries.<\/li>\n
- Fulfill Farm Pick-Up orders.<\/li>\n
- General cleaning and maintenance.<\/li>\n
- Opportunities to support hands-on farming duties and bivalve hatchery procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
