We envision people experiencing a direct and deep connection with plants, the land and each other. Growing Gardens unites the Boulder County community through urban agriculture projects, such as: The Cultiva Youth Project (Ages 12 \u2013 19), The Children\u2019s Peace Garden (Ages 3 \u2013 11), Community Classes, Growing Gardens Food Project, the Community Gardens, our Goat Dairy, and our Community Orchard.<\/p>\n<p>The Non-Profit Operations Intern will support all Growing Gardens programs and be a community ambassador for the organization. This internship is fast paced and requires a great deal of hard work, focus, and care. It is also deeply rewarding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Operations Intern Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Online Registration<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with our goat dairy and Growing Gardens\u2019 online registration for all community programs<\/li>\n<li>Assist with registration tracking and follow up with program participants for program registration payments as needed<\/li>\n<li>Organize and distribute participant information for instructors and Garden Leaders, this includes the monthly Community Garden Program Newsletter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Outreach<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with developing content for Community Garden education.<\/li>\n<li>Be an ambassador for Growing Gardens and positively engage with the community during all outreach events<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate garden development projects at our Community Garden locations as needed<\/li>\n<li>Direct communication with Community Garden Leaders and Garden Committee members across all garden locations to ensure smooth functioning of the Community Garden Program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Event Planning and Execution<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide marketing, planning, and staffing support for the Community Harvest Fest, Annual Winter Appeal Fundraiser and other events<\/li>\n<li>Assist with overseeing the general logistics of the Community Garden Program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>General Operational Support<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Answer the office telephone and make follow up phone calls<\/li>\n<li>Receive and sort mail and process donations<\/li>\n<li>Help support admin needs of youth programming<\/li>\n<li>Provide additional administrative support as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge and Skills the Intern May Acquire:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exposure to the operations of a non-profit, community-based organization.<\/li>\n<li>Current marketing and social media practices and platforms<\/li>\n<li>Introduction to grant-writing and fundraising<\/li>\n<li>Networking in local community with press, agriculture and natural foods industries<\/li>\n<li>Conflict resolution, volunteer coordination and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>The ability to work in a dynamic, team environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Structure of Internship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Internship duration is\u00a0<strong>September 1, 2021 \u2013 May 31, 2022<\/strong>.<br \/><em>Total stipend amount is $2400, half paid at years-end, the other half paid in May.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Intern position is 20 hours per week. *Note: hours may vary between weeks; however the average number of hours per week will be 20 hours. Our work has had to shift at a moments\u2019 notice based on Public Health guidelines and changing priorities for the organization. We ask that interns are understanding of changing schedules and planned work as is necessary.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are looking for an outgoing, friendly person with excellent communications skills with experience in Excel, Word, and the Google platform. Our staff and youth enjoy their time together in the garden and office and we\u2019d love for someone with a sense of humor to join us while we have fun and do good work. The Non-Profit Operations Intern must be responsible, dedicated and organized.
