Sciences seeks highly motivated junior-level engineer to serve as a member of an inter-disciplinary team working on habitat restoration planning, design, and implementation, as well as general water resources management projects, throughout California, the Pacific Northwest, and Rockies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Engineer with be responsible for:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Topographic and bathymetric survey<\/li>\n<li>Integrating mapping and analytical tasks in ArcGIS and AutoCAD<\/li>\n<li>Hydraulic and sediment transport modeling (1-D and 2-D)<\/li>\n<li>Design tasks in AutoCAD Civil3D, including grading, creating and working with surfaces, and design drawing production<\/li>\n<li>Development of construction specifications and cost estimates<\/li>\n<li>Construction management for restoration and infrastructure projects<\/li>\n<li>Technical writing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualified applicants should possess:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in engineering<\/li>\n<li>EIT certification and ability to obtain a PE within 1\u20132 years<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Excel<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated excellence with verbal and written communication<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively to organize resources, analyze data, and confidently interact with project team members<\/li>\n<li>Passion for rivers and furthering river science and the practice of river restoration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ideal candidates will possess west coast experience in\/with:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Restoration planning, design, and implementation in riverine, wetland and estuarine environments<\/li>\n<li>Threatened and Endangered (T&amp;E) species recovery, integrated multi-benefit restoration, stormwater engineering, trails and park design, fish passage, and\/or dam removal<\/li>\n<li>Total station, RTK GPS, and bathymetric survey equipment<\/li>\n<li>AutoCAD Civil3D including surfaces, grading, and plan layout<\/li>\n<li>Excel spreadsheet models, and writing code, including using R<\/li>\n<li>Modeling stream channel hydraulics<\/li>\n<li>Construction management and
