EarthGen guides and supports youth, educators, and school communities across Washington state to become leaders for a healthy environment. Through EarthGen\u2019s science-based, action-oriented programs based in K-12 schools, young people gain the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to think critically, act with purpose, and bring others together to solve the challenges we face. With a focus on diverse communities, EarthGen works to ensure that every young person can learn and take action to create a just and sustainable world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"is-style-alt-font has-fern-color has-text-color has-med-font-size\"><strong>Position Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Development Manager is a new position at EarthGen and will be essential in helping to grow philanthropic support for our mission. They will work collaboratively and creatively with the Director of Advancement and Communications Manager to expand EarthGen\u2019s community of donors and supporters and position the organization for long-term growth.<\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate will have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and a strong understanding of community-centric fundraising. They will have the capacity to create trusting, positive relationships with donors and partners and be skilled at developing and executing fundraising and stewardship events and activities. A passion for the mission of EarthGen and a commitment to racial equity are essential. The Development Manager will report to the Director of Advancement. EarthGen offers a collaborative, flexible, and fun working environment and a commitment to supporting staff members\u2019 professional growth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"is-style-alt-font has-fern-color has-text-color has-med-font-size\"><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fund Development &amp; Donor Relations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage a portfolio of base and mid-level individual donors ($1-$999), including creating moves management plans for current and prospective donors.<\/li>\n<li>Craft and deliver fundraising communications and storytelling campaigns that center the communities we serve and engage our donors.<\/li>\n<li>Manage 2-3 annual fundraising campaigns, including developing appeal letters, emails, and social media posts.<\/li>\n<li>Support fundraising and stewardship events and activities, including managing the annual fundraiser.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and support the corporate sponsorship program.<\/li>\n<li>Implement donor acknowledgment processes, including donation receipts, thank you calls, and letters.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with writing grant proposals and donor impact reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"is-style-default\"><strong>Database Management<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure donor database records are maintained and accurate.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Oversee gift entry and generate donor acknowledgment letters.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Manage queries, reports, and dashboards required to support a data-driven fundraising strategy and monitor progress on an ongoing basis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"is-style-alt-font has-fern-color has-text-color has-med-font-size\"><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Passion for EarthGen\u2019s mission and a commitment to equity and environmental justice.<\/li>\n<li>2+ years of development or communications experience in a nonprofit, education, or public service environment.<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at the same time; excellent time management skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with donors, partners, and new friends of the organization.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written communication skills in a range of contexts.<\/li>\n<li>An energetic, flexible, collaborative, supportive, and proactive\u00a0approach to work.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"is-style-alt-font has-fern-color has-text-color has-med-font-size\"><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with donor databases, Salesforce or Little Green Light a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience seeking out and cultivating relationships that lead to increased funding and\/or engagement.<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in education, environmental studies, communications or another relevant field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"is-style-alt-font has-fern-color has-text-color has-med-font-size\"><strong>Compensation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Development Manager is a full-time, salaried position. (We are open to this position being part-time for the right candidate.) Some flexibility around work hours will be required, including occasional evenings and weekends.The salary range is $52,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience, plus full benefits (medical\/dental\/vision, 403b retirement plan). Time off includes 10 paid holidays, seven Sick and Safe Leave days, and 20 vacation days in the first year.<\/p>\n<p>EarthGen is committed to providing a flexible work environment.
