GPS unit, compass, camera, and\u00a0range\u00a0finder will be provided by WEST, however, technician must be equipped with and provide own\u00a0suitable\u00a0safety-toed footwear (rugged hiking boots, etc.), clothing and binoculars (if necessary).<\/p>\n<p>This is a general description of the functions for this position and is not inclusive of the duties which may be associated with this position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Natural Resources, Wildlife Management, Wildlife Biology, or an\u00a0equivalent\u00a0degree preferred but NOT required; applications from undergraduates and other\u00a0enthusiastic\u00a0workers with relevant job experience are welcome.<\/li>\n<li>Must live within a 1 hour drive of Chalmers, Indiana<\/li>\n<li>Precise and thorough data collection is essential<\/li>\n<li>Able to work independently or as part of a team, and interact positively with project\u00a0manager,\u00a0field supervisor, landowners, clients, and other technicians<\/li>\n<li>Employee must be able to appear for work on time<\/li>\n<li>Maintain focus for long periods of time<\/li>\n<li>Follow instructions from project managers and field supervisors<\/li>\n<li>Maintain positive attitude and accept guidance and constructive criticism\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Follow all WEST safety protocols<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must be in good physical condition, as surveys will be conducted in locations\u00a0where\u00a0temperatures and conditions can be extreme. Must be tolerant of biting or stinging\u00a0insects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After an offer of employment is made, the candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment background check,\u00a0drug screening, and a DMV records check that meets WEST\u2019s minimum criteria to operate a motor vehicle on behalf\u00a0of the company. A valid driver\u2019s license will be required.
