The Development\u00a0Director will report to the Executive Director of FSC I&amp;P, and work to help manage, develop, and grow contributed revenue,\u00a0as well as\u00a0impact and provide leadership across\u00a0the\u00a0global organization. Through a commitment to inclusive, effective people and organizational management;\u00a0a deep understanding of fundraising;\u00a0and strong external partnership development, the Development\u00a0Director will help\u00a0bring innovations forward.\u00a0The Development\u00a0Director role is full-time and\u202fbased out of\u00a0FSC I&amp;P\u2019s\u00a0Seattle\u00a0office.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>About\u00a0FSC\u00a0and FSC\u00a0Investments and Partnerships<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FSC Investments and Partnerships promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world\u2019s forests. Our mission aligns with the Forest Stewardship Council\u00ae (FSC\u00ae), the world\u2019s leading and most-trusted voluntary forest\u00a0management\u00a0certification system.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the early 1990s, an international group of leaders in business, human rights, and the environment came together to develop standards for managing forests\u00a0and created the Forest Stewardship Council. These visionaries were responding to the many dire threats to the world\u2019s forests.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FSC certification tells you that the products you buy come from a forest that is responsibly managed. Trees in these forests are grown and harvested according to a robust set of guidelines that benefit the environment, economy and\u00a0society.\u00a0FSC certified forests deliver benefits for forests and the people who rely on them, and\u00a0they\u00a0offer a positive way forward to address the threats posed by climate change and inequities in business-as-usual economics.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FSC\u00a0I&amp;P\u00a0is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) non-profit established in 2016 with a commitment to dramatically accelerate the profile of FSC\u2019s work, highlight its urgency, and fund its ambition to steward the world\u2019s forests. Its goal is to accelerate the engagement and contributions of individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies around the world. It collaborates with FSC offices around the world and the International Secretariat in Bonn, Germany.\u00a0Since its inception, FSC I&amp;P has successfully supported\u00a0engagement leading to nearly $10M in two separate awards from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fsc.org\/en\/newsfeed\/fsc-indigenous-foundation-launches-global-development-alliance-for-indigenous-peoples?utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=idealist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USAID<\/a>, 1M Euro\u00a0from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fsc.org\/en\/newsfeed\/fsc-international-awarded-eu1-million-dutch-postcode-lottery-grant-to-accelerate?utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=idealist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dutch Postcode Lottery<\/a>, and many other\u00a0donations to deliver on\u00a0our common goal of Forests for All Forever.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Position<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for a mission-driven leader with experience in\u00a0fundraising, relationship building, managing a diverse team,\u00a0and working in a global setting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In partnership with the Executive Director, develop and execute a strategic plan for\u00a0FSC I&amp;P, including impact, fundraising, internal team development, and performance management goals\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Manage and support\u00a0a\u00a0Seattle-based\u00a0team and\u00a0global\u00a0colleagues\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Identify, develop, manage, and evaluate\u00a0fundraising opportunities aligned with our mission,\u00a0the Forest Stewardship Council and\u00a0FSC\u2019s\u00a0Global Strategy\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Manage a\u00a0donor pipeline of funders and prospects\u00a0capable of making six-\u00a0and seven-figure gifts\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Represent\u00a0FSC I&amp;P\u00a0at events that build the organization\u2019s external impact,\u00a0brand, and relationships\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Other tasks as required and assigned\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Approximately 10\u00a0years of\u00a0relevant\u00a0professional experience, including prior experience in a leadership or management role\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>At least\u00a06 years\u00a0of\u00a0experience\u00a0in fundraising\u00a0with a proven track record securing donations\u00a0from corporations, professional foundations,\u00a0and\/or\u00a0governments.
