Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\nProgram Delivery<\/p>\n
Instruct and Belay for Indoor and Outdoor Rock Wall during Mountain Workshops<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Inspect equipment prior to use<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure all equipment is set up before group arrival<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Explain rules to group<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Belay group members<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ensure safe climbing environment at all times<\/p>\n
Lead Instructor for Mountain Workshops<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Teach curriculum in 1-2 hour blocks to a variety of age groups. Curriculum may include:<\/p>\n
o Map & Compass<\/p>\n
o First Aid<\/p>\n
o Climbing<\/p>\n
o Outdoor Cooking<\/p>\n
o Leave No Trace<\/p>\n
o Other outdoor skills<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Work closely with volunteer instructors and assistants<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Assist with set-up, clean-up and curriculum development as needed<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Train volunteer assistants as needed<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Lead or co-lead day hikes, snowshoe outings, and day climbing trips to local crags<\/p>\n
Quality Service<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Greet youth, members, renters & guests in a professional manner<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Help youth, members, renters & guests find what they need<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\u00b7 Ability to pass criminal background check<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Proficiency climbing and belaying in a single pitch environment<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Ability to safely lead bolted routes up to 5.7<\/p>\n

The employee must occasionally lift and\/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee will be required stand for extended periods of time while leading youth, and must be able to hike on uneven and hilly terrain continuously for up to five miles. The employee is occasionally required to bend, squat, run or climb as part of duties leading youth.<\/p>\n
Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\nThis position is for a part-time, as-needed employee, averaging 10-20 hours per month (subject to change with demand). Hours vary between weekdays, weekends, daytime and evenings. Wages: $15-17\/hr depending on experience.<\/p>\n
