This full-time position will primarily serve as the watershed coordinator for the Entiat Watershed Action Team and will provide project and program support to Cascadia CD\u2019s natural resource programs focusing on aquatic habitat, forestry and water resources. Cascadia CD is located in Chelan County, Washington with physical office space located in the city of Wenatchee. This position is primarily grant funded and relies on successful future grant applications to continue its funding. This position reports directly to Cascadia CD\u2019s Executive Director.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Us:<\/strong><br \/>\nCascadia Conservation District\u2019s mission is to encourage wise stewardship and conservation of all natural resources for current and future residents in Chelan County by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Being an active advocate for wise land use and water management decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting a reasonable approach to environmental problems.<\/li>\n<li>Providing locally-led, voluntary, non-regulatory solutions to local environmental problems.<\/li>\n<li>Educating both adults and youth about natural resources stewardship.<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring and responding to future trends that affect the environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cascadia CD consists of a small team of dedicated staff focused on providing technical assistance, cost share and building programs that serve our community and the natural resources in Chelan County. Cascadia CD is a non-regulatory political sub-division of Washington State and is governed by a 5-member volunteer Board of Supervisors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\nA qualified candidate must have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor\u2019s Degree involving a major in environmental or physical science, one of the natural sciences, planning or other closely related field and two years of professional level experience.<\/li>\n<li>An Associate\u2019s Degree in environmental or physical science or technology or other closely related field may be substituted for a Bachelor\u2019s Degree if the applicant has three years or more of applicable experience.<\/li>\n<li>Very strong organizational and written\/verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Experience coordinating stakeholder groups and working one-on-one with landowners<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated the ability to handle multiple projects<\/li>\n<li>Capability of working with diverse individuals and small groups.<\/li>\n<li>Able to work in remote and rugged locations under a variety of weather conditions, traverse difficult upland and instream terrain, and carry field equipment necessary to complete required job tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel are essential).<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\nA well qualified candidate will have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competency with GIS software<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with conservation districts<\/li>\n<li>Experience with multi-resource workplans and stakeholder processes<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate in English and Spanish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"job-frame-description-content\">\n<p><strong>Typical Work:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Resource Specialist II will serve as the watershed coordinator for the Entiat Watershed Action Team and the associated sub-committees. This position works with Entiat watershed stakeholders (landowners, and local\/state\/federal organizations) to encourage stakeholder engagement, tackle emerging water resource and land management issues, and update existing watershed management plans as needed. This position will work closely with these stakeholders to move forward resource management in the watershed.
