The Program Lead will help\u00a0implement curriculum, train instructors and volunteers, and coordinate Outdoor School, environmental education and volunteer programs at The Crest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong>\u00a0(to include, but not limited to)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop Outdoor School (ODS)\u00a0spring and fall curriculum, help\u00a0with hiring of instructors, recruit schools\u00a0for\u00a0programs, obtain supplies and materials needed for this program, oversee programs alongside the\u00a0Program Coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>Write the monthly newsletter.<\/li>\n<li>Develop core of the Standard Operating Procedures for current programs.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with marketing summer day care camps as well as anticipated overnight educational camps for 2022.<\/li>\n<li>Develop database, forms, and policies for volunteer recruitment, management, and maintenance, including risk assessment, role descriptions, and progress assessment tools.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain database of community organizations that support and work with volunteer groups.<\/li>\n<li>Reach out to and speak to community organizations and schools to recruit support and volunteers.<\/li>\n<li>Develop service learning programs for students of all ages in the environmental conservation programs of The Crest.<\/li>\n<li>Recruit and train volunteers for fundraising events to support The Crest.<\/li>\n<li>Join the family of staff at The Crest and its site, Willow-Witt Ranch.<\/li>\n<li>Implement and\/or develop systems to inform Effective Volunteer Management Practices (EVMPs).<\/li>\n<li>Lead current volunteer work parties focused on gardening and wetland restoration.<\/li>\n<li>Complete and submit all necessary UCA paperwork and reports in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Attend and complete all UCA training and service requirements including orientation, trainings, team meetings, and National Days of Service (Make a Difference Day, MLK Jr. Day, and a June Service Event).<\/li>\n<li>Wear AmeriCorps apparel and\/or appropriate identifiers while performing service or attending official events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>POSITION REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong IT skills, including database development and management.<\/li>\n<li>Interest in recruiting and supporting volunteers and in community organizing\/recruiting.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work within flexible hours.<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated, independent, creative worker who enjoys people, whether working with others or alone.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational and time-management skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in writing, public speaking and personal communication.<\/li>\n<li>Must have reliable vehicle; personal vehicle is required for service activities and mileage reimbursement is provided.<\/li>\n<li>Must have valid driver\u2019s license, clean driving record and ability to provide documentation.<\/li>\n<li>17 years of age or older, at beginning of service term.<\/li>\n<li>U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident.<\/li>\n<li>Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, or commit to earning one prior to receiving an education award.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to commit to the full term of service for which they are applying.<\/li>\n<li>Must successfully pass a National Service Criminal History Check provided through UCAN and\/or Project Host Site.<\/li>\n<li>Regular and reliable attendance.<\/li>\n<li>Have not previously served four terms in an AmeriCorps*State or National program. Members are only eligible for the equivalent of two full-time education awards in their lifetime.
