PLIA offers a dynamic work environment that fosters teamwork, diversity, inclusiveness, and opportunities for continued learning and professional growth.<\/p>\n<p>We invite you to apply for the position of Hydrogeologist 3 where you will support the agency mission by performing oversight and consultation on technically complex petroleum contaminated cleanup projects relating to the agency&#8217;s underground storage tank (UST) and heating oil programs. You will engage with owners and operators of USTs and heating oil tanks to help them follow applicable state regulations and standards.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><strong>Duties<\/strong>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some of what you&#8217;ll do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Review and analyze proposed cleanup action plans, highlighting any areas of deficiency or concern.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze final cleanup action reports and exercise independent decision-making authority to prepare written opinions regarding project completion.<\/li>\n<li>Notify site owners of further steps necessary to move projects toward closure.<\/li>\n<li>Perform site visits to observe projects in progress and ensure appropriate environmental cleanup practices are employed.<\/li>\n<li>Meet with consultants, owners, third party administrators, and other stakeholders to\u00a0resolve concerns\/issues and promote good communication.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain project records, databases, and tracking systems.<\/li>\n<li>Review agency-generated opinion letters for technical and administrative consistency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED:<\/strong><br \/>You must possess a valid Washington State Licensed Hydrologist specialty license<br \/><strong>AND<\/strong><br \/>A Bachelor\u2019s degree involving major study in hydrogeology, hydrology, geology, or closely allied field\u00a0<u><strong>AND<\/strong><\/u><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>Three years professional level experience in as a hydrogeologist, hydrologist, geology or closely allied profession<\/p>\n<p>* Additional qualifying experience will substitute, year for year, for education. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>OR<\/strong><br \/>One year as a Hydrogeologist 2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Master\u2019s degree with major study in hydrogeology, hydrology, geology, or closely allied field will substitute for two years of experience. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>A PhD degree will substitute for three years of experience if major research was in hydrogeology, hydrology, geology, or closely allied field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Supplemental Information<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please provide the following documents in order to be considered;
