closing dates: <\/span>05\/28\/2021 to 06\/18\/2021<\/h5>\n<h5 class=\"usajobs-joa-summary__label\"><span data-title=\"The way that the Federal Government classifies the duration of certain jobs.\">Appointment type: <\/span>Permanent<\/h5>\n<h5 class=\"usajobs-joa-summary__label\"><span data-title=\"The salary range for the job.\">Salary: <\/span>$43,683 to $69,462 per year<\/h5>\n<h5 class=\"usajobs-joa-summary__label\"><span data-title=\"Determines the number of hours that you will work during the week.\">Work schedule: <\/span>Full-time<\/h5>\n<h5 class=\"usajobs-joa-sub-section__small-title\"><span data-title=\"Determines if you will be able to work from home on some days.\">Telework eligible: <\/span>Yes as determined by agency policy<\/h5>\n<p>See full job details at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usajobs.gov\/GetJob\/ViewDetails\/603005600\">https:\/\/www.usajobs.gov\/GetJob\/ViewDetails\/603005600<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Summary<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>The position is located on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, Shasta Lake Ranger District in Mountain Gate, CA.<\/p>\n<p>The Social Scientist\/Natural Resource Specialist administers complex recreation and non-recreation special use activities and programs.<\/p>\n<p>For additional information about the duties of this position, please contact Paulette Kelly at 530-242-5560 or\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:paulette.kelly@usda.gov\">paulette.kelly@usda.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<div id=\"duties\">\n<ul class=\"usajobs-list-bullets\">\n<li>The responsibilities listed below are at the full performance level.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare all types of recreation\/non-recreation special use permits including inspection of permittee operations to determine compliance with terms of the permit based on regulations and law.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate requests for both recreation\/non-recreation special use permits to determine planning, organizing, advising on, and administering activities and programs.<\/li>\n<li>Gather and compile data needed to determine proposed resource management activities using conventional methods and techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain information database to monitor resource program activities.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare correspondence to permittees such as inquiries concerning special uses, delinquency, and termination notices and to disseminate rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain files relating to special use activities including recreation residences, organization camps, resorts, concessions, rights-of-ways, power lines, pipelines and\/or communication sites.<\/li>\n<li>Confer with permittees or operators in an attempt to gain compliance with permit terms and\/or regulations and laws.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate program information to the public regarding management practices, rules and regulations relating to special use permits.<\/li>\n<li>Review operating plans for special use permits to determine if action should be initiated to renew or reissue a permit.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee construction of approved improvements to permitted recreation developments including resorts, organization camps, and recreation residences in consultation with engineering and heritage personnel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Qualifications<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Basic Requirement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><u>Social Scientist GS-0101<\/u><\/b><strong>:<\/strong><br \/>\nDegree: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor&#8217;s or higher degree that included a major field of study in behavioral or social science;
