Earth Resource Program Manager, Natural Resource Scientist 4<\/strong> Want to join something GREAT and make a difference?<\/strong> We are looking to expand our team and functions with the formation of a new program dedicated to understanding and communicating scientific results about geothermal, carbon sequestration, and groundwater resources in the Columbia Basin. This new program requires a technically proficient leader, with ample communication and leadership skills necessary to help create effective lasting partnerships and foster a vibrant culture within their team. The successful candidate will help to shape the vision for the program, refining key objectives and long-term plans and milestones. The ideal candidate will be astute about the roles and limitations of various stakeholders, can facilitate discussions collaboratively, and is able to tactfully navigate politically sensitive discussions.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n Responsibilities:<\/strong> They will also be relied upon to develop and implement the Program\u2019s strategy, identifying research goals, timelines, and metrics for progress. Overall research goals include the development refinement and maintenance of low-temperature geothermal resources and cost maps, carbon sequestration prospect and cost maps and mods, risk mapping, deep groundwater models, and crustal stress mapping. They will also pursue external funding opportunties to expand the program\u2019s capabilities, and they will review grant\/contract development of narratives, work plans, budgets, and reporting.<\/p>\n And most importantly, the ideal candidate will serve as a thoughtful, responsive supervisor to a group of research scientists, providing oversight, mentoring, and technical guidance to ensure the Program\u2019s success and the staff\u2019s safety and professional development. And they will help our Publications Team to design and provide content for public-facing outreach materials and publish the team\u2019s scientific research, in the form of posters, one-sheets, web map applications, databases, reports, maps, and multimedia materials.<\/p>\n\n
