Diversity is our strength.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><u>Website &amp; Outreach<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop opportunities to utilize the department website as a strategic tool to build knowledge of Bellevue Parks &amp; Community Services for external audiences. Manage content within established style guide, providing information in a consistent voice, tone, and style of online content. Write, edit, and produce content, and apply current photos and graphics to webpages.<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities to increase use of language resources to increase communication with non-English speaking, limited English-speaking, and inclusion language options.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate, identify, and implement communications tools which help the department better engage audiences who are not currently served by the department. Increase external communication and marketing to reflect the cultural needs of our diverse population as reflected in our communication mediums, printed and online media, and outreach activities.<\/li>\n<li>Initiate new strategies to improve existing website; provide advice to program and project managers to improve community relations; develop strategies and methods to enhance and encourage public involvement.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and present written and verbal communications to various audiences; produce and coordinate outreach materials; meet with staff to determine key messages and themes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Parks &amp; Community Services Board Support<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the Parks &amp; Community Services Board\u2019s monthly and special meetings, held in either in-person, virtually, or both. Work closely with internal stakeholders to produce Board meeting agendas and materials accurately and in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with staff and community members on Parks &amp; Community Services Board business, including boardmembers, residents and city Councilmembers, with tact and professionalism.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate logistics for Parks &amp; Community Services Board meetings, including but not limited to setting up and operating computers, projectors, timers, recorders, and other meeting technology; managing minute taker contract; and coordinating meeting hospitality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Other Responsibilities<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build effective working relationships with internal customers, as well as internal service providers including Information Technology and Communications.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as lead for the implementation and management of the department\u2019s SharePoint Online sites.<\/li>\n<li>Participates on various teams and committees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Supervision Received and Exercised:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Works under general supervision.<\/li>\n<li>May formally supervise support staff and\/or volunteers.<\/li>\n<li>Position requires the ability to exercise influence with positions and people where no formal supervisory relationship exists.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Qualifications<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A passion for removing barriers which prevent people from accessing the department\u2019s full array of programs and services.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of elements of webpage design; ability to write and oversee the design of promotional and informational materials within established city style guides.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to design and manage public involvement programs, communications materials, and information strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, other governmental jurisdictions, contractors and other City staff; ability to communicate and express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish effective working relationships with internal customers and internal service providers; ability to work in a team environment and to work independently.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to listen and respond to internal and external customers\u2019 needs.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of meeting planning and technology, including operation of presentation equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multitask and accomplish goals using sound analytical and decision-making skills.
