Help the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife fulfill its mission: To protect and enhance Oregon’s fish and wildlife and their habitats for use and enjoyment by present and future generations.<\/i><\/p>\n

\nLocation:<\/u><\/b>\u00a0 Based out of Klamath Falls and Enterprise<\/i><\/b>, Oregon. Work to be conducted either in the Lostine River drainage near Enterprise, Oregon, or in the South Fork Sprague River drainage near Klamath Falls, Oregon.<\/p>\n

Job Description:<\/u><\/b> What you will do:<\/b> Assist with implementing applied research and monitoring aimed at conservation of native inland fishes in the state of Oregon. Collect information on ecology, composition, distribution, abundance, and other aspects of the biology of fishes. The two limited duration positions in Enterprise will assist with documenting distribution, occupancy, and relative abundance of Bull Trout, Brook Trout, and their hybrids in the Lostine River drainage and other nearby drainages. The two seasonal positions in Klamath Falls will assist with documenting distribution, occupancy, and relative abundance of Brook Trout and other fishes in the South Fork Sprague River drainage; lethally sampling Brook Trout will be a major duty associated with these positions.<\/p>\n

These positions require a flexible work schedule that varies in the number of hours worked on a daily basis, but not necessarily each day, or a work schedule in which the starting and stopping times vary on a daily basis, but not necessarily each day including most weekends and some night work. These positions may be physically demanding.<\/p>\n

Requirements\/Requested<\/span> Skills:<\/u><\/b> Minimum qualifications are not established for these positions; however we are seeking applicants with the following related skills and experience (e.g. field work in remote wilderness areas, electrofishing surveys, identifying adult fish species (especially salmonids), collecting and accurately recording field data, and ability to euthanize fish) and who possess or are in pursuit of a Fisheries or Wildlife Science degree or related degree in biological\/ecological<\/span> sciences. Preference for interviews will be given to candidates with this background.<\/p>\n
