Keeping Washington Clean and Evergreen<\/strong><\/div>\n In this position, you will lead the Underground Injection Control (UIC) program by implementing Washington\u2019s current UIC rules and revising these rules as needed. You will be part of protecting the State\u2019s groundwater and drinking water resources by reviewing UIC well registrations to ensure they meet our protective rule requirements. You will also assist colleagues, the public, and other agencies to understand the State\u2019s groundwater standards for environmental compliance and research needs.<\/p>\n The mission of the Water Quality Program is to protect and restore Washington’s waters to support healthy watersheds and communities. Our work ensures state waters can support beneficial uses including recreational and business activities, supplies for clean drinking water, and the protection of fish, shellfish, wildlife, and public health.<\/p>\n During Stay Home, Stay Healthy,<\/strong>\u00a0staff are working a combination of in-office and\/or telework based on position and business need.\u00a0Ecology is maintaining less than maximum building occupancy, and requiring masks, health screening questions before entry, and social distancing.
