Our work ensures state waters can support beneficial uses including recreational and business activities, supplies for clean drinking water, and the protection of fish, shellfish, wildlife, and public health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What will you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Municipal Unit Supervisor supports the program mission and section objectives by managing project leads and staff to support program services. These statewide services include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Issuing municipal stormwater NPDES general permits and providing support to regional permit planners who implement the permits<\/li>\n<li>Developing technical policies, manuals, models, resources, and making technical determinations in support of stormwater management programs<\/li>\n<li>Managing grants to municipal permittees for stormwater improvements<\/li>\n<li>Regional stormwater monitoring program implementation<\/li>\n<li>Stormwater strategic initiative implementation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To do this, you will<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support unit staff as they work with stakeholders and regional permit planners to develop and implement stormwater permits and related guidance<\/li>\n<li>Advocate for staff resources as they provide engineering and technical support to grant projects and studies<\/li>\n<li>Lead the way for effective stormwater management practices across the state<\/li>\n<li>Maintain strong teams and relationships across the Water Quality Program and the stormwater management community in Washington State<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why join the team?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Municipal Unit in Ecology\u2019s Water Quality Program supports some of the most advanced municipal stormwater management permits and programs in the country. The planners, scientists, and engineers working in the Unit develop and support municipal stormwater permits, technical manuals, and guidance. Staff also administer an innovative regional stormwater monitoring program (<a href=\"https:\/\/ecology.wa.gov\/Regulations-Permits\/Reporting-requirements\/Stormwater-monitoring\/Stormwater-Action-Monitoring\">Stormwater Action Monitoring<\/a>), and participate on Ecology\u2019s Stormwater Technical Team that works to apply new science to permits and guidance.
