Enveloped in the heart of the Cascade Mountains, Glacier Peak Institute (GPI) empowers youth, community, and ecosystems to prosper and cultivate a shared resilient future through action-based outdoor education. GPI provides STrEaMs based education to rural youth (Science, Technology, Engineering &amp; Math experienced through recreation and art to gain skills). Along with operating a summer youth forestry crew, and hosting a WSU Cascade Mountains Military Teen Adventure Camp.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Interns should be passionate about empowering at-risk youth, and willing to serve both directly and behind the scenes. These positions are vital to our capacity as we are a very small non-profit serving in an under-resourced community. Our internship program is designed to provide valuable professional and personal experiences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Dates:<\/strong>\u00a0Beginning of June &#8211;\u00a0 until Mid August **exact dates are flexible<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Interviews:<\/strong>\u00a0Starting ASAP and ongoing until positions are filled (2 positions available)<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Supervisors<\/strong>: GPI Executive Director, GPI AmeriCorps, and Camp Director<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Pay and Housing:<\/strong>\u00a0Stipend will be available. Shared housing will be provided.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan, coordinate and facilitate youth programs focused on STEM, outdoor recreation, and environmental education<\/li>\n<li>Assist in critiquing and revising existing programming<\/li>\n<li>Manage, coordinate, and recruit volunteers<\/li>\n<li>Maintain, log, and organize donations and gear<\/li>\n<li>Assist in grant writing and fundraising campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Update and manage social media accounts<\/li>\n<li>Plan, coordinate, and participate in community outreach events<\/li>\n<li>Assist in ensuring compliance with COVID-19 protocols during programs<\/li>\n<li>Maintain safety of participants and staff at all times during activities<\/li>\n<li>Drive GPI vehicles for event and program needs.
