The intern will assist with the urban trails and bikeways program on bike spot improvement project deliveries, and the annual trails checkup.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Educational Benefit to the Student<\/strong><br \/>\nThe intern will learn skills in bicycle and pedestrian project planning including but not limited to data collection and analysis and outreach. The intern will be a key participant in project team meetings. \u00a0The intern will receive training regarding common city practices including the\u00a0race and social justice best practices. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to take advantage of the City&#8217;s training opportunities.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Job Responsibilities<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>\nBicycle Master Plan Intern<br \/>\n35% \u00a0Project Development. This position will provide support in developing bicycle and community<br \/>\nprojects including working on the Complete Streets Checklist, map development and participating in<br \/>\nteam meetings<\/p>\n<p>25% \u00a0Field Work. This position will go out into the field to do observations of how people are using<br \/>\nour bicycle facilities, review road conditions. Additionally, they will support our annual trail spot<br \/>\ncheck to review trails for improvements<\/p>\n<p>25% \u00a0Outreach\/Materials Development &#8211; The position will support outreach for our projects including helping develop materials to advertise projects as well as to go out to community events to talk to the public about our work<\/p>\n<p>15% \u00a0 Data Collection and Analysis. Intern will conduct field observations to collect project related<br \/>\ndata like pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular movement as well as parking studies.
