The position will focus on development, communications \u2013 particularly assisting with social media and website administrative functions, assisting program staff, and tending to general office functions. Also, a prominent focus of the job will be to assist with WaterWatch\u2019s annual fundraising auction each fall.<\/p>\n<p>WaterWatch is a river conservation organization dedicated to protecting and restoring streamflows in Oregon\u2019s rivers for fish, wildlife, and the people who depend on healthy rivers. WaterWatch advocates for balanced water policies in Oregon. For over thirty years we have worked in the courts, state and federal agencies, the legislature, and the media to ensure that enough water is left in our rivers to sustain the fish, wildlife, and people who depend on healthy rivers. WaterWatch has a budget approaching $1,000,000, a staff of eight, a board of fifteen, and two offices: one in Portland, and a satellite office in Ashland. The Administrative Assistant will work out of the Portland office when it is safe to return to the office. For now, the position will operate remotely. The position reports to the executive director.<\/p>\n<p>The administrative assistant will divide time between the development and program sides of the organization. On the development side, the assistant will support all areas of development with particular attention to event support, donor tracking\/gratitude practices, database administration, and WaterWatch\u2019s end-of-year giving campaign. On the program side, the assistant will perform administrative tasks associated with WaterWatch\u2019s advocacy as needed, with a focus on the administrative tasks related to our social media program and basic website maintenance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Term:<\/strong>\u00a0Part-time Hours: 24 hours per week (with sporadic overtime around the annual auction in early November), occasional travel and weekend\/evening meetings and events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Compensation:<\/strong>\u00a0$19.00\/hour to start.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Portland, OR. Remote to start, returning to the office when safe to do &#8211; WaterWatch Office (213 SW Ash St, Suite 208)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties \/ Responsibilities: Development:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022\u00a0<\/strong>Assist in all aspects of the annual auction:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Procure auction items.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in tracking event logistics: reservations, donations, payments etc. o Update auction database, GreaterGiving.<\/li>\n<li>Organize and manage volunteers.<\/li>\n<li>Help design materials and decorate for the event.<\/li>\n<li>Promote the event on list serves, social media, email alerts, etc. o Reserve, pick up, and drive the rental van\/truck the weekend of the event, transport auction items, and return the rental the day after the event.<\/li>\n<li>Thank donors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2022 Help prepare and spread event, fundraising, policy and outreach communications, including digital and web-based promotions;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Perform administrative functions associated with social media and the website.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Assist with database entries (Salsa, training available), donor tracking and thanking, and quality control;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Assist in the planning, implementation, and follow up regarding all events and webinars;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Compile and distribute fundraising, membership, and outreach mailings;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Execute reports from the Salsa database and compile data as necessary;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Assist with donor thank yous;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Update profiles and retrieve reports as provided from workplace giving partners; Program:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Support WaterWatch\u2019s conservation agenda and program staff by providing administrative support for program staff;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Filing;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 File review online and in Salem, Oregon;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Organize and synthesize data in worksheets and graphics; and<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Scanning, digitalizing files.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with office IT needs;<\/li>\n<li>Manage office supplies;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate meetings and food and drink for gatherings (when they can safely occur); and<\/li>\n<li>Manage photographic materials that highlight programs and projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The successful applicant will have the following qualifications\/experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with social media platforms &#8211; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.<\/li>\n<li>Self-starter.<\/li>\n<li>Outgoing personality.<\/li>\n<li>Some office experience.<\/li>\n<li>Some experience with event planning and implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to lift\/carry 25 pounds (including up stairs).<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with and passion for Oregon\u2019s rivers and water policy.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, and development databases (Salsa Labs and GreaterGiving a plus, training is available).<\/li>\n<li>Editing and proofreading skills a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Strong and professional communication skills, excellent phone skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong collaboration and group skills.
