The Range Planner proactively engages with community members and partners to implement existing projects, identify local priorities, and develop projects that address high priority agricultural and natural resource needs. The Planner will coordinate grant activities, complete project administrative duties, and conduct outreach activities related to range management and the improvement of shrub-steppe and riparian habitat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Core Functions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work\u00a0proactively\u00a0with land managers to\u00a0develop custom resource management plans using their goals and existing resources to address natural resource concerns.<\/li>\n<li>Inventory\u00a0and assess\u00a0landscape\u00a0characteristics\u00a0and\u00a0natural resource concerns\u00a0using NRCS and local partner strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and evaluate data to determine if land management goals are being achieved.<\/li>\n<li>Develop, implement, and evaluate habitat restoration projects.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical assistance to\u00a0land managers.<\/li>\n<li>Represent the District in local agricultural producer meetings and community meetings to support the participants and identify emerging opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Provide education and outreach to the public on the value of sustainable and resilient ecosystems. This typically includes tabling at community events, speaking at meetings, and teaching classes.<\/li>\n<li>Connect agricultural producers and other community members with technical resources from partner organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate project activities to co-workers, granting agencies,\u00a0the Okanogan CD\u00a0Board, project partners, and the community.<\/li>\n<li>Write grant and project funding applications and\u00a0assist with contract negotiation and administration.\u00a0Develop cost estimates and manage multiple budgets associated with a variety of grant funding sources.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise staff and\/or volunteers\u00a0as assigned.<\/li>\n<li>Perform all actions while on official duty in a safe and healthful manner and of a nature to reflect favorably on the Okanogan Conservation District.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"clearfix\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"job-frame-how-apply\"><span class=\"how-apply-header\">HOW TO APPLY<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Please review the announcement and job description at:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.okanogancd.org\/news\">https:\/\/www.okanogancd.org\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This position is open until filled.
