These jobs pay $15.74\/hour, working 40 hours per week, with the ability to start immediately. COVID safety protocols are followed. Applicants must be 18 or older.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are especially in need of help at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wdfw.wa.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2021-04\/hatchery_contact_information_mass_marking.pdf\">these hatchery locations<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/get.adobe.com\/reader\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(Download PDF reader)<\/a>. Interested parties should contact the hatchery for more information and to see if this opportunity is right for them.<\/p>\n<p>Duties<\/p>\n<p>We are also currently accepting volunteers to help with this work; anyone interested in volunteering must first register online as a volunteer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wdfw.wa.gov\/get-involved\/volunteer\">at the WDFW website<\/a>, then use the hatchery list above to contact a facility near them to learn more about volunteer opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>If these fish aren\u2019t clipped, it could negatively impact fisheries across the state.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>KEY DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Supporting manual mass marking operations by manually applying adipose clips.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tasks include:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These positions clip the adipose fins of juvenile salmon and steelhead utilizing surgical scissors under close supervision and thorough instruction. \u00a0Duties may include coded-wire tagging, fin clipping, body tagging, and other markings as required. Additionally, they may also assist the Fish ID Lead in other duties such as inspection for quality of marking, trailer set up, entering ponds to crowd fish and transfer fish from ponds or net pens to the trailer. This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and use scissors repeatedly throughout the course of the day.<\/p>\n<p>Manual clipping of adipose fin. Monitor work product to provide quality results.
