If you think that you are a good candidate for this position, please apply for the <b>Natural Resource Specialist 3<\/b> (Hemp Inspector).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">As the <b>Natural Resource Specialist 3<\/b> (Hemp Inspector) you will primarily inspect hemp growers and processors to determine whether the parties are within compliance or noncompliance with federal and state laws. You will write enforcement documents when enforcement action is decided and provide technical expertise to other department staff, the regulated community, and the public regarding major or complex issues. You will provide education and outreach to stakeholders relative to the enforcement of pertinent laws and regulations.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">Our <b>Natural Resource Specialist 3<\/b> (Hemp Inspector) is a permanent full-time position, is based in Eugene, Oregon and is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">We, at<b><i> Oregon Department of Agriculture <\/i><\/b>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/oda\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ODA<\/a>) ensures that hemp growers, hemp handlers, and agricultural hemp seed producers are registered and that pre- and post-harvest testing\u00a0of hemp and hemp products are conducted as required by Oregon hemp statutes and regulations.\u00a0As the department regulates hemp in Oregon, it is our goal that this program provides:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">Assurance of compliance to state laws,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">Continued good health, safety and welfare to Oregon\u2019s citizens.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregon.gov\/oda\/AboutUs\/Documents\/EugeneHemp%20Inspector.PD%20draft.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here to view a full description of this position<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\"><b><u>Working conditions<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">Some work may need to be conducted during evening hours and on weekends. Work locations away from the office will vary, including a variety of business, public and field locations. Driving great distances in all weather conditions and some overnight travel are required of this position.
