Their primary\u00a0responsibility\u00a0is to identify,\u00a0cultivate, solicit and steward major\u00a0gifts\u00a0that enable Audubon to achieve its\u00a0ambitious\u00a0local, state and national goals. They will\u00a0develop\u00a0and\u00a0manage\u00a0a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects capable of\u00a0giving\u00a0$10,000 + annually. To do so successfully, they will work closely with members of the development team, the Vice President and Executive Director of Audubon Washington and other colleagues throughout the state\/ region, and\u00a0volunteer\u00a0board\u00a0leaders. The right candidate will have lived experience working with people and communities of color\u2014and demonstrated ability in doing so.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with the Vice President for Development, the Executive Director of Audubon Washington and\u00a0volunteer\u00a0leadership\u00a0to\u00a0develop\u00a0and implement a multi-year fundraising plan to grow philanthropic revenue to $1.5m to $2m a year.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the Executive Director and Pacific Flyway Fundraising Vice President to\u00a0develop\u00a0annual fundraising plans and donor facing materials that highlight the breadth and depth of our work throughout the state.<\/li>\n<li>Create\u00a0and maintain a portfolio of ~100 major donors and prospects, executing annual plans including personal visits, solicitations, regular stewardship\u00a0communication,\u00a0event\u00a0invitations, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Staff the Executive Director of Audubon Washington in her fundraising by preparing donor strategies, briefings, meeting materials, as well as proposals, reports, and other donor facing collateral.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate donor data in Salesforce and regularly report on progress towards activity and revenue goals.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as the primary staff liaison to Audubon Washington\u2019s Development Committee and in the planning of\u00a0cultivation\u00a0and solicitation strategies,\u00a0events, trainings, and other fundraising activities as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Design and implement\u00a0cultivation,\u00a0engagement, and stewardship\u00a0events\u00a0(both in person and virtual) to\u00a0help\u00a0strengthen\u00a0relationships\u00a0with existing\u00a0supporters\u00a0and potential prospects.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure\u00a0gifts\u00a0are coded, acknowledged, and stewarded appropriately.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The ideal candidate will have ~7\u00a0years\u00a0of development experience as a\u00a0frontline\u00a0fundraiser.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability in developing donor\u00a0relationships\u00a0that result in five and ideally six-figure\u00a0gifts.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as to be\u00a0self-directed\u00a0with a high degree of accountability.<\/li>\n<li>Skilled at working cross functionally with stakeholders, as well as high-level volunteers and boards.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to guide projects, establish and monitor priorities, maintain\u00a0flexibility\u00a0and meet deadlines with little\u00a0direct\u00a0supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent\u00a0strategic thinking,\u00a0analytical\u00a0skills and attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding stewardship and\u00a0relationship\u00a0management\u00a0skills.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge about birds is not\u00a0required, though experience with and a\u00a0commitment\u00a0to conservation is a positive.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is\u00a0required;
