Grant programs include the Floodplain by Design capital program that address flood hazards while improving environmental outcomes and the Flood Control Assistance Account Program that prepares comprehensive plans to reduce risks associated with flooding.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for someone who can quickly provide expertise and consultation to floodplain policy staff, staff from other state agencies, and partner organizations in the Floodplains by Design network. This position supports the mission by managing the use of shoreline, wetlands, and floodplain resources in the Northwest Region<\/p>\n<p>Some of the key work activities of the\u00a0<strong>SEA Program Floodplain Planner<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>position\u00a0are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serves as staff to interagency committees including the ALIGN committee focused on improving coordination of grants across multiple grant programs across agencies.<\/li>\n<li>Develops, plans and coordinates program &#8211; budget planning activities.<\/li>\n<li>Represents Ecology on planning efforts involving federal, state, and local governmental officials on administrative policy in rendering technical assistance.<\/li>\n<li>Develops policies, procedures, and standards of adequacy for grants planning by the agency, and by grants recipients performing planning activities over which Ecology has supervisory responsibilities.<\/li>\n<li>Provides technical assistance and administrative guidance to recipients on grant eligibility, administration, and use of the Ecology Grants and Loan (EAGL) system.<\/li>\n<li>Assists grant recipients with resolving audit questions and recommends course of action to resolve issues or meet contract requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This position provides expertise and consultation to floodplain policy staff, staff from other state agencies, and to partner organizations in the Floodplains by Design network.
