The\u00a0Shorelands & Environmental Assistance<\/a>\u00a0(SEA) program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a\u00a0SEA Program Floodplain Planner<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(Environmental Planner 3) position. This position will be located in our Headquarters Building in\u00a0Lacey, WA<\/a>.<\/p>\n The\u00a0SEA Program Floodplain Planner\u00a0<\/strong>position serves as an independent project manager responsible for guiding the development and administration of floodplain management grant programs. Grant programs include the Floodplain by Design capital program that address flood hazards while improving environmental outcomes and the Flood Control Assistance Account Program that prepares comprehensive plans to reduce risks associated with flooding.<\/p>\n We are looking for someone who can quickly provide expertise and consultation to floodplain policy staff, staff from other state agencies, and partner organizations in the Floodplains by Design network. We are looking for experience providing financial assistance to applicants and recipients of floodplain grants. This position supports the mission by managing the use of shoreline, wetlands, and floodplain resources in the Northwest Region<\/p>\n Some of the key work activities of the\u00a0SEA Program Floodplain Planner<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>position\u00a0are:<\/p>\n This position provides expertise and consultation to floodplain policy staff, staff from other state agencies, and to partner organizations in the Floodplains by Design network.
