Having the ability to provide concise detailed work order task information, asset update documentation and email updates to supervision. A position of influence to lead, instruct and train others while further development of technical and leadership skills for future opportunities. As a SME you are valued to share your perspectives and experiences to help shape future projects and decisions to our infrastructures.Wastewater Maintenance Specialist \u2013 Mechanical Core Duties\u00a0Initiate tasks from supervisory staff and work orders from our computer maintenance management system.Perform work following safety procedure and regulations for self, coworkers and public.Manage and prioritize workload to meet completion deadlines.Perform maintenance on sewer related rotating, pneumatic, hydraulic, combustion equipment and HVAC, fire protection, water systems utilizing industry best practices to maintain reliability from experience or operation and maintenance manuals.Provide supervision with information on sewer related equipment and systems for additional maintenance and repairs, asset and maintenance schedule improvements.Provides influence for teamwork and positive working relationships with contracted service contractors, County personnel and public for effective work products and customer service.\u00a0A classification description with a more detailed list of essential functions for the mechanical focused positions can be found\u00a0here.QUALIFICATIONS\u00a0High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of apprenticeship training from a recognized vocational technical school or training program.A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical, pumping, or collection system is required.A combination of education\/experience which clearly demonstrates ability to perform the duties of this classification may be substituted for education and formal training.Basic computer skills will also be necessary.\u00a0SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSMust have a valid Washington State Driver’s License.Within the first twelve months, individuals must have the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class “A” (Tank Vehicle) endorsement and Wastewater Collections Specialist Certification.As a condition of employment, the applicant will need to authorize and complete a background check.
