Accurate inventory data is essential for planning maintenance of SDOT assets, as well as providing support to citizens who need permits to maintain their trees.<\/p>\n<p>An online tree map has been released, and accurate inventory data will provide better customer service to the public. The student will also be able to interact with iTree inventory analysis software and observe how data is used when making management decisions.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Job Responsibilities<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>85% \u00a0Field data collection<br \/>\n10% \u00a0Data verification, analysis and reporting<br \/>\n5% \u00a0File\/Data management<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Qualifications<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong><br \/>\nOpen to all undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited 2-year or 4-year educational program and graduate students, who are enrolled in an accredited educational program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Areas of Study<\/strong>: \u00a0Forestry, Urban Forestry, Landscape Architecture, Arboriculture, Horticulture, Natural Resource Management.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Undergraduate student<\/strong>s will need to maintain a 2.0 GPA or above throughout the internship.<br \/>\n<strong>Graduate students<\/strong>\u00a0will need to maintain a 3.0 GPA or above throughout the internship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in or knowledge related to tree identification<\/li>\n<li>General knowledge of ArcGIS products<br \/>\nAbility to perform ad-hoc research using the internet<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access)<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Project management experience<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with tree inventory applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Additional Information<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>Start\/End Dates<\/strong>: \u00a0 \u00a0Early July 2021 to September 15, 2021<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schedule<\/strong>: \u00a0Intern will work 20 hours\/weeks while school is in session. \u00a030-40 hours\/week during school breaks. \u00a0Work hours can be scheduled between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary<\/strong>: \u00a0Undergraduate students will be paid $18.36\/hour.
