I. Job Summary<\/u><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n WM is looking for an outreach specialist to join our award-winning team of waste reduction\/recycling educators.\u00a0Protecting the environment is a core value at WM<\/a>. Our Public Education and Outreach Team activates this value every day, bringing both passion and expertise to empower our customers to reduce waste and\u00a0RecycleRight.<\/a>\u00a0You will be joining a collaborative team, supportive of learning, growth, and career development.<\/p>\n This position is dedicated to helping Seattle businesses and apartment managers reduce their waste and improve composting and recycling programs through educational assistance.<\/p>\n Each day on the job brings new, dynamic, opportunities. You\u2019ll help businesses start new composting programs, help apartment managers educate residents on proper recycling, table at community events, and give recycling 101 presentations to children and adults of all ages and backgrounds. You will also engage with customers and stakeholders on social media and create educational videos, articles, and reports.<\/p>\n Please note Waste Management is closely following health and safety guidelines due to Covid-19 and has taken measures to protect employee and community safety. Under normal circumstances, this role involves in-person outreach in the field roughly 50% of the time. We are currently prioritizing the health and safety of staff and customers by performing most of our outreach remotely via phone or video call. Limited in-person activities are still required, such as delivering materials to customers, auditing recycling bins, and supporting outdoor collection events. This role is designated as remote within the Seattle area. All office-based work will be done from the employee\u2019s home office\/employee\u2019s remote work location.<\/p>\n \nII.
