This position will assist in implementation of field operations, outreach, reporting, and data management.<\/p>\n<p>The position reports to and works closely with 10KYI\u2019s executive director and program manager.<\/p>\n<p>DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n<p>This position requires excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills, and the employee should expect to spend &gt;40% of their time working outdoors in all weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Coordinate, supervise, and implement IPS prevention and control programs within open-pit mines using 10KYI-sourced best management practices and policies<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Manage and coordinate restoration field crews:<\/p>\n<p>o Schedule, equip, and deploy crews<\/p>\n<p>o Prioritize survey and control locations<\/p>\n<p>o Ensure data quality during field operations<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Supervise and conduct surveys to find, map, and control IPS in a variety of forested and open riverine habitats, pastures, gravel mines, and along roads<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Apply protocols to complete manual and chemical treatment of IPS<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Maintain data and develop reports on sites and species treatments and activities<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Work with GIS staff to develop maps for planning, fieldwork, and reporting<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Coordinate communication of intended action and complete reports of project activities for partners, landowners, land managers, and the public<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Assist in the development of communication, outreach programs and presentations, and educational materials related to IPS and habitat restoration programs, resources, and opportunities<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Provide communication, coordination, partnerships, and information transfer between federal, state, and local partners in the public and private sectors<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Data entry and reporting using Microsoft Office Suite<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 ArcGIS point and polygon post-processing and QA\/QC<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Work with the executive director and other staff to develop fundable project ideas consistent with 10KYI\u2019s mission<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Actively research potential funding sources<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Assist in writing grant proposals to state and federal agencies, private foundations, and other sources of funding<\/p>\n<p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 A Bachelor\u2019s degree* in natural resources management, botany, ecology, environmental science or policy, or a related field and three (3) years relevant experience;
