Forum on Leadership, Georgia College (Virtual)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"pr-story--element-space\">\n<div class=\"pr-story-lead\">\n<p class=\"pr-story--lead-sans\">Dr. Rae Andr\u00e9 is a nationally distinguished educator and environmental activist.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pr-story--element-space\">\n<div class=\"pr-story-paragraph\">\n<div class=\"pr-story--text\">Georgia College, in partnership with the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC) and the Management &amp; Organizational Behavior Teaching Society (MOBTS), will host a national forum with Dr. Rae Andr\u00e9, professor emeritus at Northeastern University\u2019s D\u2019Amore-McKim School of Business.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pr-story--element-space\">\n<div class=\"pr-story-paragraph\">\n<div class=\"pr-story--text\">Andr\u00e9 will present and facilitate a public forum on Tuesday, March 23rd from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Part of Georgia College\u2019s Inspire! series on leadership, Andr\u00e9 will lead a discussion on sustainability leadership. \u201cGrowth is finite, natural capital is priceless, and human progress must be measured in terms of both economics and the quality of life,\u201d says Andr\u00e9. The forum will be hosted virtually and will be open to the public.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"pr-story--element-space\">\n<div class=\"pr-story-paragraph\">\n<div class=\"pr-story--text\">Dr. Andr\u00e9 will host a virtual workshop for faculty from across the country on Wednesday, March 24th, from noon until 1:30 p.m. The workshop, \u201cTeaching Climate Leadership,\u201d will equip instructors to promote integrative learning in courses on strong sustainability.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pr-story--element-space\">\n<div class=\"pr-story-paragraph\">\n<div class=\"pr-story--text\">Dr. Rae Andr\u00e9 is the author of Lead for the Planet: Five Practices for Confronting Climate Change. Lead for the Planet shifts the focus to how we, the members of Team Humanity, are going to organize to solve the twin issues of climate change and energy evolution. The book channels a broad range of social science perspectives, from anthropology to psychology to economics, to help decision-makers explore how Team Humanity can get this thing done.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pr-story--element-space\">\n<div class=\"pr-story-paragraph\">\n<div class=\"pr-story--text\">An organizational psychologist, Andr\u00e9 is professor emeritus of leadership and sustainability and instructor in the D&#8217;Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University in Boston. Her courses promote systemic thinking on climate change and energy evolution. Aimed at high level undergraduates, MBAs, and professionals, they include sustainability for organizations (&#8220;weak&#8221; sustainability) along with sustainability for the planet (&#8220;strong&#8221; sustainability). Her work has reached students in a variety of disciplines from management to engineering to liberal arts.
