The headquarters office is located in Tumwater, and region offices are located in Burlington, East Wenatchee and Tumwater.<\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>This recruitment will be used to fill three (3), permanent- seasonal,\u00a0<strong>Park Aide\u00a0<\/strong>position for\u00a0Brooks Memorial, Maryhill\u00a0and\u00a0Columbia Hills State Parks, located in\u00a0Klickitat County, WA.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on Washington State Parks, click\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.parks.wa.gov\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The season dates for these positions are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Brooks Memorial (Klickitat County)\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0March 1st (3\/1) through October 31st (10\/31), yearly<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maryhill (Klickitat County)\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0April 1st (4\/1) through October\u00a031st\u00a0(10\/31), yearly<\/li>\n<li><strong>Columbia Hills (Klickitat County)\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; April 1st (4\/1) through October 31st (10\/31), yearly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Duties<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>Under the direct supervision of a Park Ranger 2, these positions will be required to learn and apply skills needed to carry out the daily operation, maintenance and administration of Brooks Memorial State Park and it&#8217;s satellite parks. \u00a0This position will be scheduled to work either day, evening, weekend and\/or holidays.<\/p>\n<p>Primary duties include,\u00a0but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain park facilities through light routine maintenance and janitorial services.<\/li>\n<li>Perform grounds maintenance work, such as cutting grass, weeding flower beds, pruning shrubs, raking leaves, and picking up litter.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain park lawns using a mower, weed eater, trimmer, and various maintenance tools.<\/li>\n<li>Provide park information to visitors and answer phones.<\/li>\n<li>Register campers, collect, sort and count revenue; prepare bank transmittals and deposits.<\/li>\n<li>Perform daily garbage collection and litter control.<\/li>\n<li>Clean restrooms, vault toilets and lodge using appropriate chemical cleaners.<\/li>\n<li>Follows posted cleaning procedures to clean toilets, urinals, sinks, walls, shower stalls, floors, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Restocks paper supplies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Qualifications<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be at least 18 years old.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to lift 30-40 pounds.<\/li>\n<li>Valid unrestricted (except for corrective lenses) driver&#8217;s license &#8211; If your DL is out of state (other than WA State), you will be required to show proof of a valid and current unrestricted driver&#8217;s license at the time of the interview.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First Aid\/CPR certified.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to learn and interpret park rules, area information, and local history and educate park visitors.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to lead and instruct others and follow direction.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain organization, communication, and a reasonable completion time and quality.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, and small equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform general maintenance to park buildings and facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform janitorial services, including the use of chemicals.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in all weather conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to learn about equipment servicing, diagnosing, and maintenance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>UNIFORM INFORMATION:<\/strong><br \/>\nAll Park Aides are required to wear a uniform. \u00a0A complete and properly worn uniform helps establish the professional identity of a Park Aide and promotes respect as a Washington State Parks employee. \u00a0All seasonal Park Aides will receive 4 shirts the first year (2 shirts each year afterwards), 1 baseball cap, 1 jacket each 5 years, a clothing stipend of $150.00 per calendar year, and a boot stipend of $150 every 2 years. \u00a0Stipends are intended to offset the cost of clothing worn in the workplace such as pants, boots, raingear, etc.<\/dd>\n<dt>Supplemental Information<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 HOW TO APPLY:<\/strong><br \/>\nTo ensure consideration, please complete the online job application and profile at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.careers.wa.gov\/\">www.careers.wa.gov<\/a>.
