\nThe incumbent will\u00a0plan and conduct county-wide noxious weed surveys and site inspections as prescribed in RCW 17.10 and WAC 16-750.\u00a0The incumbent will work independently or as part of a team under the supervision of the Noxious Weed Control Coordinator. The Clallam County Noxious Weed Control Program works to prevent and reduce the economic and environmental impacts of noxious weeds in Clallam County.<\/p>\n
Distinguishing Characteristics<\/strong><\/p>\nThe person in this position plans and conducts county-wide noxious weed surveys and site inspections as prescribed in RCW 17.10 and WAC 16-750 and in compliance with all relevant regulations and policies of the Noxious Weed Control Board. \u00a0The person in this position will assist with notifying and interacting with landowners who are found to be out of compliance. The person in this position will be responsible for maintaining all necessary documentation in the relevant database regarding infestation locations, landowner communications and progress toward compliance. The person in this position must be able to provide information to the public about appropriate control measures best suited to site conditions. The person hired for this position will report directly to the Noxious Weed Control Coordinator, and will be expected to work closely with other program staff and other County departments. The person hired for this position will also be expected to interact closely with other agencies, and private landowners. Additional duties supporting the noxious weed control program will be assigned as needed.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.<\/p>\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the Noxious Weed Control Inspector 2 will often be working in a field setting. The duties require working in all types of weather and temperature conditions, on rough terrain often in remote areas in direct sunlight and in contact with plants, poisonous weeds and exposure to wildlife. This position requires walking on various types of surfaces, including rough terrain, sitting, standing, walking, often times for long periods, maintaining balance, climbing over obstacles, up inclines and traversing uneven terrain, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, shoveling, and digging; requires a sense of touch, finger dexterity and ability to grip with fingers and hands; requires lifting and carrying up to 40+ pounds; requires ability to hear normal voice conversations and alarms and the ability to speak and to perform the mental requirement of the position; requires close, far and side vision with depth perception and ability to discern color accurately; requires wearing of safety equipment. Ability to operate a passenger vehicle, work alone, and in remote areas; ability to work in all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to direct sunlight, outside temperature extremes, dampness, wind, rain, ice and snow; ability to work in water.
