Spend your summer checking in on young trees and educating the public in their care.<\/strong><\/em> Duties will include the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n This position will work regularly outdoors in all weather conditions; requires long periods of driving; standing and walking over uneven terrain; and lifting and carrying of items up to 30 pounds. Our urban forest consists of over 220,000 street trees, 1.2 million park trees, and innumerable private property trees. \nThis position will support Portland Parks & Recreation Urban Forestry\u2019s tree planting programs, including the\u00a0Yard Tree Giveaway program<\/a>. In summer, work will include monitoring trees to\u00a0assess health, planting, and survival.\u00a0In fall, event preparation for 2021 giveaways will include event organization, registration support, tree delivery, and planting. This position represents the program to the public, works closely with tree recipients, and is responsible for collecting and managing tree data.<\/p>\n\n
