\nThe Parks Department<\/strong>
\nPierce County Parks manages over 5,000 acres of open space, trails, developed and undeveloped parks. \u00a0We provide recreational programs and community gathering spaces. The department consists of three divisions: \u00a0Parks and Recreation, Administrative Services and Resource Stewardship. Why It’s a Great Opportunity:\u00a0<\/strong>
\nThis position will be focused on creating, planning, and coordinating local and regional special events,
\noverseeing facility\/recreation operations of Chambers Creek Regional Park and our award-winning wedding venue, The ESB (Environmental Services Building) and our newly installed nine-acre Event Lawn. In addition, the chosen candidate will also supervise our department’s marketing team and actively contribute to the department’s marketing efforts. You will have the unique opportunity to lead the \u201crestart\u201d of the park\u2019s event offerings (as the Governor\u2019s restrictions allow) as well as our facility rental business, create a new regional golf and beverage event for 2022, work with the local organizations and our tourism partners to recruit and attract new partners and user groups to utilize the new Event Lawn greenspace and work collaboratively with members of the marketing team to implement new marketing campaigns and expand our market reach.<\/p>\n

How to be Successful in the Role:\u00a0<\/strong>Having knowledge of and experience in event planning, marketing and promotions, facility scheduling, personnel management, staff mentoring and coaching, building relationships within the community, and budget administration is highly desired. Throughout the training process you will meet with your supervisor regularly to discuss expectations and set goals for yourself as well as those under your supervision.

\nYour Future in this Role:\u00a0<\/strong>This position will be instrumental in the continued development of regional attractions at Chambers Creek Regional Park. The position also offers a great foundation for future positions within the Parks Department.<\/p>\n
