Business and science operations are enhanced or newly created via effective internal systems development activity or by assisting and selecting best-qualified external-developer partners and effecting necessary integrations with DFW or State technology resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>As the Information Governance Manager<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 you \u00a0thoroughly understand the requirements of the state Public Records Act, Records Act, RCW 42.56, RCW 40.14, data sharing requirements, relevant privacy laws, record retention laws and discovery rules for litigation \u00a0and will demonstrate strong leadership attributes and creative problem-solving skills.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Duties<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong><em>How you will make an impact,<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Serving as the agency Privacy Officer<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and is responsible for ensuring that the private information of staff members and WDFW license holders are not produced to unauthorized recipients.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Monitoring new<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0technology or changes to existing technology applications, products, or operational processes and ensures that privacy and protection of personal data is appropriately managed.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>As the Information Governance Manager,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0you can be the central point of contact for matters involving privacy and data protection with the State\u2019s Office of Privacy and Data Protection.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>In charge of leading efforts<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in developing, implementing, and managing an integrated IG program designed to optimize the agency&#8217;s use of its information. Makes recommendations for associated policy development, processes, procedures, and guidelines for information governance, enterprise content management, records management, public records requests\/public disclosure, and privacy issues.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Identifying information management<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and privacy laws and regulations and will support implementation actions to ensure compliance. Effectively represent the agency\u2019s positions and advocate internal and external policy consistent with the agency\u2019s objectives.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Washington State has a long-standing commitment<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0to open government, including open access to nonconfidential data from state agencies. \u00a0The Information Governance Manager leads the agency efforts in promoting and facilitating open data.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>With your experience,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Information Governance Manager<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0takes the lead in promoting a culture of information compliance and information governance best practices across the agency. Provides technical and tactical advice and act as the point of escalation for queries and concerns.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>And indirectly manages public disclosure<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and records management across the agency and will have a keen focus on enhancing agency business operations while meeting the intent of applicable records and public records laws, regulations, and policies.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>You will work routinely with WaTech<\/em><\/strong>, and the Office of the Attorney General, and other internal and external stakeholders to provide these services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And lead and Supervise a staff of four to include:<\/strong><br \/>\nManagement Analyst 4 (Public Records Officer) Records Management Supervisor (Records Officer) Management Analyst 3 (Litigation and Discovery Coordinator) Management Analyst 3 (Electronic Search)<\/p>\n<p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Work Setting, including hazards:<\/strong>\u00a0Position\u2019s assigned duty station is at the Natural Resources Building on the Capital Campus in Olympia. Work performed is almost exclusively indoors in a fast-paced office environment.
