Participants will learn the foundational concepts of a five-step adaptation planning process.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\"><span style=\"color: #242938\">The entire course is conducted online. It includes a combination of self-guided learning and interactive, instructor-led sessions with group activities.\u00a0<\/span><span>No adaptation experience is needed.<\/span>\u00a0(4 CM AICP Credits\/CEP Points)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #242938;font-family: Tahoma\">You will learn how to:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #242938;font-family: Tahoma\">Organize\u00a0preliminary steps for planning\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #242938;font-family: Tahoma\"><span>Find local\u00a0<\/span>information sources to better understand changing conditions\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #242938;font-family: Tahoma\"><span>Describe<\/span>\u00a0the vulnerability assessment process as a tool for adaptation planning<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #242938;font-family: Tahoma\"><span>Identify<\/span>\u00a0feasible adaptation options<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #242938;font-family: Tahoma\"><span>Describe\u00a0<\/span>a pathway for taking action\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span><span style=\"color: #242938;font-family: Tahoma\">As a participant, you will be expected to:<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #242938;font-family: Tahoma\"><span>Participate\u00a0<\/span>in two 2-hour interactive sessions on two separate days (9 am &#8211; 11 am on 3\/23 and 3\/25)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #242938;font-family: Tahoma\"><span>Spend up<\/span>\u00a0to 90 minutes on your own, prior to and in between the interactive sessions, completing assignments and engaging with course participants online<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #242938;font-family: Tahoma\"><span>Use the\u00a0following technologies to engage with trainers and fellow participants:\u00a0<\/span><span>Headset\u00a0<\/span>or speakers and a microphone<span>,\u00a0<\/span><span>Adobe<\/span>\u00a0Connect, and the learning management system Moodle (access provided by NOAA)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><span style=\"color: #242938;font-family: Tahoma\"><strong>Instructor:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Tahoma\">NOAA&#8217;s Digital Coast Academy has a wide variety of training opportunities devoted to the coastal management community. Coastal managers can access over a dozen instructor-led training courses and additional self-guided resources such as online modules, case studies, quick references, and videos to learn and build skills.
