If yes, then this is the position for you!<\/i><\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">This position is currently being offered as either a <b><u>Limited Duration appointment for anyone to apply OR as a statewide Job Rotation<\/u> <\/b>to all permanent, current State of Oregon employees (this includes regular status and limited duration employees who have completed trial service).\u00a0 State of Oregon job rotations require employer approval. Position is located in Salem.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\"><b><u>What will you do?<\/u>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">As Aviation Operations Specialist you will assist the State Aviation Manager who serves as the agency&#8217;s technical expert and principal representative, consulting at all levels with internal and external stakeholders on the department\u2019s aviation operations, policy, safety and training needs. You will coordinate the administrative needs of the program to include aircraft procurement, contracting, agreements, vendor relations, severity resource tracking\/equipment inventory, aviation manager relief schedules, interagency relations, and aviation training coordination. You will support incident management teams and field offices with aviation operations during complex situations. You will be assisting in the development of new technology. At least one year of the experience must be at a technical or professional level performing activities in a natural resource program such as researching and analyzing data, conducting investigations, applying pertinent laws and regulations, or coordinating and monitoring project activities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"LTR\">OR<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"LTR\"><b>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Natural Resource Management, Forest Management, Aviation Management<\/b> or closely related natural resource field and<b> three years <\/b>of forestry, wildland fire management, aviation <span class=\"WHV2\">management\/coordination,<\/span> or closely related natural resource experience. At least one year of the experience must be at a technical or professional level performing activities in a natural resource program such as researching and analyzing data, conducting investigations, applying pertinent laws and regulations, or coordinating and monitoring project activities. Note: Master&#8217;s degree in Forestry or closely related natural resource degree will substitute for up to one year of the required experience.
