The\u00a0Nuclear Waste Program\u00a0<\/a>(NWP) is looking to hire an\u00a0IT Project Manager – Journey Level.<\/strong>\u00a0The position will be located in our Richland Field Office (RFO) in\u00a0Richland, WA<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0IT Project Manager<\/strong>\u00a0position will serve as the IT technical expert for NWP’s large-scale and highly-complex projects. \u00a0The work being performed is unique due to the NWP’s regulatory role at the Hanford Site and NWP’s regional location and is setting standards for large data initiatives. \u00a0An example of the complexity is the evolving business needs and shifting priorities that result when coordinating with multiple federal and state agencies, including the United States Department of Energy (USDOE), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Washington State Department of Health.<\/p>\n

Duties<\/p><\/div>\n

This position reports to the Technology & Environmental Data section supervisor. This individual provides expert IT project management and application development services for Ecology’s Nuclear Waste Program (NWP). This work includes initiating, planning, controlling, monitoring, closing, and reporting on large projects that support mission critical initiatives, including the reissuance and publication of the 16,000 page Hanford site-wide dangerous waste permit.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0IT Project Manager<\/strong>\u00a0position, leads cross functional teams in determining IT business needs. \u00a0Team members include IT, regulatory, and administrative staff. The position will also analyze the overall work and individual tasks required for the project and assign tasks to team members and sub-teams.<\/p>\n
