Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Crew will perform maintenance tasks at developed and dispersed recreation sites. Maintaining and restoring sites that visitors use for recreational purposes helps to prevent resource damage and minimize impact on the land. Facilities maintenance is a necessary way to minimize sanitation impacts throughout the forest. Crew will educate visitors on Leave No Trace principles that will reduce negative impacts on the Snoqualmie Ranger District. The Crew will spend their summer alongside the Forest Service and they will be exposed to the diverse range of career opportunities within the US Forest Service.<\/p>\n<p>Assigned duties will include the following:<br \/>\n-maintaining campgrounds,\u00a0trailheads and dispersed recreation sites in the Snoqualmie Ranger District<br \/>\n-visitor education contacts in front country and backcountry settings<br \/>\n-collecting data<br \/>\n-cleaning restrooms<br \/>\n-removing litter<\/p>\n<p>Compensation amounts:<br \/>\n&#8211; $1,100- one time RT travel allowance<br \/>\n&#8211; $150- weekly living allowance<br \/>\n&#8211; AmeriCorps eligible ($1,638 education award)<\/p>\n<p>*All allowances subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes<\/p><\/div>\n<ul class=\"main-extras\">\n<li><label>Location Description<\/label>\n<div>Snoqualmie RD, on Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li><label>Training Provided<\/label>\n<div>Interns will go through the orientation and training given to seasonal employees on each Ranger District. SCA interns will be mentored by experienced Wilderness Rangers and other employees on the Ranger District.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li><label>Educational\/Recreational Opportunities<\/label>\n<div>Mt Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest abounds with outdoor recreation opportunities throughout the year.
