In the first week of May, we will kick off our\u00a0<strong>Survive the Sound<\/strong>\u00a0event where kids and kids-at-heart can follow a\u00a0<em>real live<\/em>\u00a0steelhead on its journey towards the Puget Sound! You and your students can root for your favorite fish as they travel down one of three local rivers- the Duwamish, the Nisqually, or the Skokomish.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019d like to know more about the event and how to participate, join us for a 2-hour Survive the Sound Educator Training! We will be reviewing Long Live the King\u2019s free\u00a0<strong>Salmon Science Education Toolkit<\/strong>\u00a0and discussing how to include Survive the Sound in your classroom.\u00a0\u201cCan I join this training even if I don\u2019t need Clock Hours?\u201d Of course! This training is for anyone who wants to learn more about how to incorporate NGSS-aligned Salmon curriculum into your current learning environment.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>During this class, learn how our Salmon Science lessons align with Washington science curriculum, Amplify and Washington State\u2019s Tribal Sovereignty-based Social Studies curriculum, Since Time Immemorial. Whether in person or online, Survive the Sound is a great tool for watershed and salmon education.
