Potential to work up to 40 hours in the summer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Duties<\/strong><br \/>\n90% field work<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist the PI and survey team lead with conducting field surveys for bats using remotely-deployed acoustic detection equipment throughout Oregon, Washington, or Idaho following standardized protocols<\/li>\n<li>Establish team campsites and communicate on-site with federal and state partner hosts<\/li>\n<li>Camping will be required during survey periods, and some equipment may be provided by OSU<\/li>\n<li>Comply with OSU safety protocols<\/li>\n<li>Drive to remote field locations and navigate to survey locations using GPS<\/li>\n<li>Hike through remote and rugged terrain<\/li>\n<li>Deploy bat detectors using various materials (e.g., t-posts, PVC pipe, telescoping poles, rebar, stakes) and retrieve equipment and manage data storage media following standardized protocols<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshoot detector operation and deployment<\/li>\n<li>Upload and manage recorded bat call files (data) on mobile PC devices and backup to external hard drives and deliver data to PI<\/li>\n<li>10% office data management<\/li>\n<li>Download and manage data including conducting quality assurance &amp; control procedures.
