\nThe Portland Water Bureau is seeking a qualified Bull Run Watershed Protection Manager to join their Resource Protection and Planning Group.<\/strong><\/em><\/u><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The Portland Water Bureau\u2019s Resource Protection and Planning Group is seeking an Environmental Regulatory Coordinator to serve in the role of Bull Run Watershed Protection Manager. \u00a0This position is responsible for managing the watershed protection program for the Bull Run watershed, the primary source of drinking water supply for the City of Portland.\u00a0 This position will report to the Source Protection Division Manager.<\/p>\n

This position is the city\u2019s primary operational liaison with state and federal agencies responsible for land management, fire protection and related environmental permitting, including the US Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the Oregon Department of Forestry. \u00a0 The Watershed Protection Manager will lead review, permitting, and on-site inspection of environmental design standards for maintenance and repair of forest roads on both city and USFS lands. \u00a0The Watershed Protection Manager will serve as the Bureau\u2019s primary resource advisor and onsite liaison during wildfire suppression incidents, including deployment to a USFS\/ODF Incident Command site and\/or PWB Emergency Operation Center.<\/p>\n

The Watershed Protection Manager will work closely with bureau staff responsible for water supply system engineering, watershed hydrology and water quality, watershed security, and fish and wildlife protection. \u00a0The successful candidate will have excellent communication and coordination skills, and an ability to problem solve in emergency situations. \u00a0Experience with forest fire incident response and the National Incident Command System is desirable.<\/p><\/div>\n

  1. Knowledge and experience applying the principles, theories, methods and techniques of watershed sciences, natural resource management, and environmental protection.<\/li>\n
  2. Ability and experience analyzing, interpreting, explaining, and applying relevant environmental laws, regulations, ordinances, policies and procedures.<\/li>\n
  3. Ability and experience analyzing complex environmental issues and problems, evaluating alternatives, and recommending policies, procedures, strategies or other effective courses of action.<\/li>\n
  4. Ability and experience exercising independent judgment, problem-solving, taking initiative within general policy guidelines, and gaining cooperation through collaboration, especially during emergency situations.<\/li>\n
  5. Ability and experience working with a multicultural workforce, promoting an equitable workplace environment, and applying equitable program practices to diverse and complex City services.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
