This work has a\u00a0<\/span>specialized focus on precision mowing and turf care in landscaped settings<\/span>, as distinguished from general mowing in diverse terrain, often with traffic exposure.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \nAbout the Work:<\/span>\u00a0Turf Maintenance Technicians<\/span>\u00a0are typically required to negotiate rough terrai<\/span>n,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>lift up<\/span>\u00a0to 100 pounds (commonly only 50\u00a0<\/span>lbs.<\/span>\u00a0at a time) safely<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and drive equipment from site to site in traffic on City streets<\/span>. \u00a0<\/span>They should be able to function as a highly skilled and productive team member.\u00a0<\/span>These positions work out-of-doors for extended periods under unfavorable weather conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n As a\u00a0<\/span>Turf Maintenance\u00a0<\/span>Technician<\/span>\u00a0you will:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Transport your mowing equipment from park to park across the city<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n Mow large turf areas on commercial equipment<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n Perform turf restoration projects<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Work constructively on a diverse team<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n Calculate and safely apply needed fertilizers and pesticides<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n Assist work groups with landscape maintenance<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n Portland Parks and Recreation is seeking applications to fill\u00a0<\/span>multiple\u00a0<\/span>Turf Maintenance<\/span>\u00a0Technician positions<\/span>\u00a0currently.
