The hiring authority reserves the right to fill this position at any time after that date without notice.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>For more information on Washington State Parks, click\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/parks.state.wa.us\/281\/Parks\">here<\/a>.\n<\/div>\n<div>If you have questions regarding this recruitment, please contact the manager listed in the &#8220;Supplemental Information&#8221; section of this publication.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Duties<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>The role of the C&amp;M Supervisor is to supervise, coordinate, and lead the maintenance\u00a0program within the NW Region area parks.\u00a0The C&amp;M Supervisor provides guidance, coordination, and supervision of the trades and maintenance staff who perform maintenance duties on buildings, utility systems, roads, trails, and equipment resulting in the public having safe and functional facilities.\u00a0 The C&amp;M Supervisor also assists in planning projects, budget preparation of projects, facility inspections, and construction and maintenance of buildings, roads and heavy equipment throughout the\u00a0NW Region area.<\/p>\n<p>This position plays an important role of the\u00a0primary interface with the\u00a0Region Maintenance Manager and the Maintenance Chief on state and region wide maintenance objectives and priorities.<\/p>\n<p>Duties include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leads and directs the maintenance, repair, and operational development of the park areas and its facilities and equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Schedule work priorities and shift coverage, mentor, recommend disciplinary and corrective action, perform hiring interviews, and develop work plans and evaluations.<\/li>\n<li>Recruit and hire trade and maintenance staff for the area.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for the coordination and completion of the Preventative, Deferred, Routine, Equipment, and emergency and unforeseen maintenance within the area.<\/li>\n<li>Perform repair and maintenance work in carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, water and wastewater systems, and other equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and control park maintenance budget for all park area projects and repairs.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct or provide equipment training for area staff who operate equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Qualifications<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two (2) years of experience and completion of recognized apprenticeship in at least two skilled trades OR four (4) years of applicable work experience or vocational training OR two (2) years of experience as a Construction &amp; Maintenance Project Lead.<\/li>\n<li>Valid unrestricted (except for corrective lenses) driver&#8217;s license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.<\/li>\n<li>Effective verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to use hand and power tools used in the trades industry.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to operate medium to heavy duty equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of construction techniques, plumbing codes, electrical codes, and building codes.<\/li>\n<li>Supervisory experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>UNIFORM INFORMATION:<\/strong><br \/>\nAll Construction &amp; Maintenance Supervisors are required to wear a uniform. \u00a0A complete and properly worn uniform helps establish the professional identity of a Construction &amp; Maintenance staff member and promotes respect as a Washington State Parks employee. \u00a0All Construction &amp; Maintenance Supervisors will receive 6 shirts within the first year (2 shirts per calendar year after the first year), 1 jacket every 3 years, 1 baseball cap every year, 1 safety vest every 3 years, and a clothing stipend of $200 per year, and a $250 boot stipend every 2 years. \u00a0Uniform stipends are intended to offset the cost of clothing worn in the workplace such as pants, boots, raingear, etc.<\/dd>\n<dt>Supplemental Information<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong>HOW TO APPLY<\/strong><br \/>\nTo ensure consideration, please complete the online job application and profile at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.careers.wa.gov\/\">www.careers.wa.gov<\/a>.
