4-O Ranch Unit\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>Asotin County, Washington State<\/div>\n<p><em>Anticipated Appointment Length: 4 Months\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>March 1st, 2021 &#8211; June 30th, 2021<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>WDFW staff comprise a talented and passionate group of people dedicated to protecting Washington\u2019s Natural Resources. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our employees serve the public with integrity, we hold ourselves accountable to both the quality of our work, and the way in which we perform it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>With that in mind,\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Picture yourself<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0performing land management and recreational site management activities\/maintenance on the Chief Joseph Wildlife Area.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Strong candidates<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0will have applied experience in habitat management, forestry, farming, weed control and equipment maintenance work.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Our ideal candidates<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0will have a strong work ethic, the ability to follow written and verbal directions and can work independently in remote locations.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>We are seeking team players\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>who respect and value the opinions of others, creating an inclusive team environment where every member feels they contribute value to the project and WDFW.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Duties<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong><em>Our Fence Crew\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Performs technical duties to protect, maintain, and improve habitats, species, or recreational opportunities on the Wildlife Area.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.<\/li>\n<li>Constructs and maintains boundary stock fences on wildlife area lands to prevent livestock intrusion to agency lands.<\/li>\n<li>Constructs and maintains interior stock fences for livestock management.<\/li>\n<li>Uses ATVs, off-road vehicles, and hiking into extremely rugged terrain to construct and maintain fences<\/li>\n<li>Writes activity reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Work Setting, including hazards:<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Extremely rugged terrain, extreme heat and cold weather, rattlesnakes and fire hazards during fire season.<\/li>\n<li>Must be willing to hike in rugged terrain while carrying 50 lb. loads and lifting 80 lbs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Schedule:<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Monday &#8211;
