There are 3 regions (Northwest, Western, and Eastern); this position is in the Northwest Region. The Regions provide the following services: compliance inspection of regulated entities; enforcement of permit requirements and administrative rules; issuance of air, water, and solid waste permits; investigation of complaints; issuance of subsurface permits in counties; response to spills or other incidents with environmental impacts; direct contact and liaison with other governmental entities, industries, and the public; and technical assistance to regulated entities and the public. You will lead a dynamic innovative team, overseeing investigations, risk assessments and feasibility studies. You will support the agency during assessments of environmental hazards from exposure to toxic substances, with special emphasis on ecological risk evaluation and interpretation. You will use creativity, technical and managerial expertise to ensure the protection of public health while making improvements in environmental quality that directly and measurably benefit the public. You will ensure that sites are evaluated and remediated in a manner that is cost-effective and timely. Furthermore, you will serve as a technical specialist on cleanup project technical teams, reviewing risk assessments, supporting site decision making, and communicating site risks to responsible parties and to the public.
