Assist biologist staff with field preparations, irrigation, controlling noxious weeds, tree plantings and habitat inventories. Operate ATV\/UTV sprayers, backpack sprayers, and boom sprayers to control weeds.<\/p>\n \u2022 Construct, maintain and repair watering devices (guzzlers), irrigation equipment, fences and roads on department land or in cooperation with other agencies. Assist biologist with coordinating, monitoring progress and inspecting work with all volunteer personnel.<\/p>\n \u2022 Maintain and repair buildings, grounds and structures by painting, welding, plumbing and grounds keeping. Maintain and repair farming and irrigation equipment and certain types of automotive equipment. Operate chainsaws, battery and electric tools, welders, cutting torches, tractors, backhoes, jet boats, ATVs, and 4X4 manual and automatic transmission vehicles.<\/p>\n \u2022 Assist in conducting biological inventories. Collect, record and report data under supervision and direction. Observe, count and classify sex, age and species of wildlife. May assist biologist with radio telemetry, aerial antelope surveys and upland bird surveys. Assist with monitoring access, habitat improvement and sign postings.<\/p>\n \u2022 Record and maintain a record of daily activities and keep inventory of tools and supplies.
