Operating in the interface between science and policy, GCSE engages both scientists and decision-makers across all levels of government in a nonpartisan manner. Founded in 1990, GCSE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About This Position<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Membership &amp; Strategic Partnerships Manager will play a critical role in supporting, managing, and growing GCSE\u2019s dynamic domestic and international partnerships with members, government entities, peer organizations, and other strategic partners. This role focuses predominantly on membership and partnership management and administration, with some<br \/>\nopportunity to support member program development.<\/p>\n<p>Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:<br \/>\n\u25cf Membership and Partner Engagement<br \/>\n\u25cb Maintain regular member outreach.<br \/>\n\u25cb Initiate contact and proactively engage and welcome new members.<br \/>\n\u25cb Coordinate member-focused activities, such as the Science Dialogues and Member Meetings, to ensure current members have a positive and worthwhile membership experience.<br \/>\n\u25cb Write and design effective emails to communicate key opportunities to members.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u25cb Provide support to the co-chairs of the Communities of Practice (CoPs), multi-<br \/>\ninstitutional technical working groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf Membership and Partner Management<br \/>\n\u25cb Develop and implement strategies for retention of existing members and recruitment and cultivation of new members, including the creation of new member benefits and regular solicitation of member feedback.<br \/>\n\u25cb Maintain accurate records of members and key contacts through Constant Contact, Google Sheets, and Salesforce CRM.<br \/>\n\u25cb Track US and international membership dues received and outstanding.<br \/>\n\u25cb Manage and pursue membership renewal efforts and recruitment of lapsed or new members across sectors through email, mailings, and phone calls.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u25cb In concert with the Executive Team, develop effective communication materials to promote GCSE membership, coordinate website content and functionality to enhance membership and strategic partnership programs.<br \/>\n\u25cb Provide high-quality customer service experience for renewing and prospective members.<br \/>\n\u25cb Track US and international membership development in the progress and determine next steps.<br \/>\n\u25cb Advance membership strategic activities to nonprofits and corporations<br \/>\n\u25cb Curate content for and foster engagement in LinkedIn or other members-only groups<\/p>\n<p>Logistics<br \/>\n\u25cf Location: Washington, D.C.; remote until safe to return to an in-office environment.<br \/>\n\u25cf Timing: Ideally starting in March 2021.<br \/>\n\u25cf Compensation Range: $57,000-70,000 commensurate based on experience with excellent benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Priority attributes:<br \/>\n\u25cf Critical thinking and communication skills<br \/>\n\u25cf Strategic mindset; able to conduct smart research on partnerships\/trends, pattern match, and identify new opportunities in service of our mission<br \/>\n\u25cf Persuasive, efficient communicator including writer, with demonstrated experience in preparing engaging content, including proposals, reports, and other communication for diverse audiences<br \/>\n\u25cf Articulate and comfortable picking up the phone and calling people to track down information, following up on lapsed memberships, and responding to inquiries.<br \/>\n\u25cf Strong project management and organizational skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to prioritize work and juggle multiple tasks at once<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to identify solutions in a fast-paced environment, work autonomously and be proactive in approach<br \/>\n\u25cf Demonstrated ability to deal well with multicultural settings in representing an organization: a sense of teamwork and community<\/p>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications:<br \/>\nAt GCSE, leading our assessment of candidates are their skills, ambition, and experience working with diverse international institutions.<br \/>\n\u25cf Relationship-Building and Maintenance: Outstanding ability to build and sustain relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including understanding others\u2019 goals and working to mutually solve others\u2019 challenges &#8211; particularly with senior-level, external stakeholders.<br \/>\n\u25cf Strategic Acumen: Outstanding ability to identify new opportunities. Strong understanding of and commitment to GCSE\u2019s core mission, to accelerate the scientific basis of environmental decision-making<br \/>\n\u25cf Operational Excellence: Ability to balance multiple demands, highly organized, with demonstrated success working in fast-paced environments, solving problems creatively, and delivering timely &amp; measurable results.<br \/>\n\u25cf Professionalism &amp; Communication: Highest standard of professional conduct and communication; strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).<br \/>\n\u25cf Entrepreneurial Drive: Resourcefulness, agility, and comfort working on a small team, in quickly changing environments, including eagerness to wear multiple hats as needed.<br \/>\n\u25cf Prior Work Experience: Please note that though we are not setting a baseline educational requirement, this is not an entry-level position.
