The Renewable Hydrogen Alliance will help us explore the role of Hydrogen in our clean energy future. We’ll look at the latest trends in hydrogen production as well as where we might see hydrogen used going forward. From fueling heavy duty trucks and airplanes to energy storage, we’ll highlight hydrogen’s great potential to pair with clean electricity to provide clean power for the 21st century.

Panelists

Martina Steinkusz – Interim Executive Director, Renewable Hydrogen Alliance – Martina joined Portland-based Renewable Hydrogen Alliance in 2019 as the Director of Market Development. Before moving to Portland, Martina served as Project and Communication Manager at the European Small Hydropower Association in Brussels, Belgium. She led the industry’s communication and outreach activities and managed several EU co-funded projects touching upon hydropower policy and the implementation of small hydropower cooperatives across several EU countries. Martina holds a German-British double – degree in business and received a Master in Urban Studies from the University of Vienna, Austria, with a focus on urban energy and the development of smart grids.

Evan Ramsey – Sr. Director Renewables, Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) – Evan has been with BEF for over 6 years and leads the organization’s work on renewable energy, demand response, energy efficiency, and electrification. With over a dozen years of renewable energy experience he has consulted with hundreds of communities, businesses, governments, and utilities to provide technical, financial, development, and management expertise while working on projects across the country. His work at BEF includes pioneering the region’s first low-income benefitting community solar project, supporting dozens of low-impact hydro projects, engaging on multiple levels of energy policy, founding the Renewable Hydrogen Alliance, commissioning a cost benefit study on vehicle electrification for small and rural publicly owned utilities, and leveraging over $20m in funding to support such projects. Evan has been the BEF lead on renewable hydrogen and is active in supporting utilities and developers in advancing production and utilization of this clean fuel.

Michael S.
