You are doing what you love and your peers and friends naturally gravitate to you with questions and assistance \u00a0because they can see your passion and desire to help.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>House Finches-Credit-WDFW Staff<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>With that in mind,\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>This is an\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong>opportunity\u00a0<\/strong>to serve as the lead to develop a comprehensive environmental sustainability plan which includes actions to minimize carbon footprint, maximize carbon sequestration, improve fleet practices, and move towards greater sustainability.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>With your experience<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0you will work with a team to lead the development and implementation of a WDFW environmental sustainability plan.<strong><em>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><em>You will also help WDFW to build expertise and lead in new areas of carbon sequestration and accounting. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>You thrive on building collaboration and teamwork\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><em>and are looking for new challenges to work on together.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>You are excited to<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0delve into analysis to further understand the issues at hand and provide well researched recommendations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>Duties<\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p><strong><em>Our Environmental Sustainability Coordinator will,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0In consultation with the Agency\u2019s Conservation Policy Director and Deputy Director, convene and lead an internal WDFW sustainability workgroup (ESW). \u00a0This position invites prospective members, schedules meetings, develops agendas and leads the development of a charter and workplan for the group<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Lead the ESW to develop and implement an environmental sustainability plan which must address but is not limited to, actions to address minimizing carbon footprint, maximizing carbon sequestration, reducing environmental impacts, and improving fleet practices and use of office space. \u00a0Prepare and write the plan, based on input and guidance from the committee and provide review opportunities for the agency\u2019s Deputy Director and Conservation Policy Director.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Report WDFW carbon emission annually to the Department of Ecology, as required by state law. \u00a0Data on carbon emissions is available in agency fleet and building records and must be reported by methodology established by the Department of Ecology.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Serve as the WDFW representative to the SEEP (State Agency Environmental and Efficiency Performance workgroup) established through Governor\u2019s Executive Order to identify improvements in state agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Communicate regarding WDFW\u2019s environmental sustainability program to external audiences, as appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Engage staff and managers in sustainability plan development and implementation through announcements on the intranet, surveys, workshops, and other methods.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Serves as the agency\u2019s lead for carbon sequestration:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Research methodologies for conducting a carbon inventory of WDFW lands and secure contractor expertise (as needed and as budgets allow). \u00a0Work with Lands Program to conduct an inventory of stored carbon on WDFW lands and identify opportunities for additional sequestration. \u00a0Develop best practices to account for and maximize carbon sequestration in grant making, restoration projects, mitigation guidance and other agency activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Form partnerships with other agencies engaged in sequestration (for example, DNR, RCO, Commerce and Ecology) to share data, methodology and learning opportunities for staff.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Provide educational materials and access to training programs for staff on carbon sequestration and programs for trading carbon credits in carbon market programs.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Work Setting, including hazards:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Work is performed almost exclusively indoors in an office environment.
